About: Linda Jamieson School of Dance

For more than 30 years, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance has been training students in Ottawa, Ontario, in a variety of dance techniques. Since its inception, the School has earned a reputation as one of the premier dance schools in the region. Students between the ages of 3 and 19 attend the School to learn tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, and musical theater at both the recreational and preprofessional level.

The Linda Jamieson School of Dance employs an outstanding staff that guides students through classes, summer dance programs, and team competitions. At the end of each year, the School puts on a number of recitals to display its students’ talent. It also stages professional ballet productions, including the Nutcracker, Giselle, and Coppelia, and Swan Lake.

Over the years, the School has attracted a number of guest artists to host workshops. First-rate choreographers and dancers from such Broadway shows as West Side Story, Chicago, Guys ‘n’ Dolls, South Pacific, and 42nd Street have come to share their expertise. Prima ballerinas and principal dancers from such prestigious organizations as the Paris Opera Ballet, Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company, American Ballet Theater, and the National Ballet of Canada have also led courses at the School.

Graduates of the Linda Jamieson School of Dance have moved on to work in Broadway productions of Crazy for You, Hello Dolly, Kiss Me Kate, and Cats. They have also gone on to dance with many of the best production companies.
